How can I get from Britain to Australia without taking an aeroplane?
wild adventurer asked:
I am planning to go to Australia and New Zealand (for starters!) in late January for as long as I can. I could get a flight but I really like the idea of getting there by land and sea (I have plenty of time). Is it actually possible though? Has anybody actually done this?! How?

I’ve never really travelled that way, but I do believe there should be cruise ships that go to australia and New Zealand. Just search the ‘net for travel angencies or Cruise Agencies. They should be able to provide you with more information. If you can’t find a good travel agent, go to a high-end hotel and ask their help. That’s one of their services.
I would take a train to southeast Asia - you may be able to get one as far as Singapore with some connections. Then take the ferry or cruise boats from there.
